The aqueduct was built to carry a leat from higher up the River Wey across
the river to watermeadows on the east side of the old London Road; part of the
watermeadow system dating begun in the 15th century. It has a stone arch and
faces, with a red brick water channel on top; the channel is now dry. Restored
1970s. |
